Some of the commercial insect repellents are regulated as pesticides in some countries due to the main ingredient in fact being a pesticide.
The pesticides include: -DEET- N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide -Cyfluthrin -Permethrin -Pyrethroids
These commercial insect repellents are made from two ingredients, the active and the inert. Although the ‘active’ ingredient must be listen in the product bottle, other inert ingredients such as solvents, fragranced, foaming agents and preservatives do not have to be listed.
