Personal Product Review #1

Updated: Jan 31, 2022

Just a few products that helped me through my pregnancy and postpartum...

Whilst being on maternity leave it has given me opportunity to reflect on areas in my life that other mums could be struggling with.

Now I am not going to sugar coat this at all; but I want to share my experience with these products.

So let’s dive in to the products I have personally used, trialed, testes and what situations I used them in.

“Help” oral drops by Naughty Naturopath Mum

These oral drops were used in the early stage of my ‘new mum journey.’

We all know that being a new parent can bring so many different emotions to the surface. What I believe is that we get told it can be hard but until you’re in that moment yourself; NOTHING can really prepare you for it. These drops helped to calm the nerves when shit really hit the fan, (told you, I’m not going to sugar coat it) In times of when I thought I was going insane, nothing was going right, I thought I was in over my head, or I was wanting it to all just STOP……. I put 7 drops on my tongue, I embraced the emotion and was able to let it go or somewhat chill out a bit and gather my thoughts. These oral drops a supportive remedy to assist in the management of emotional wellbeing. They are not medicated, nor should they replace any medication.

“Self Love” oral drops by Naughty Naturopath Mum

The society that we live in now puts so much pressure on us to look a certain way postpartum. You see on social media

unrealistic images of woman looking thin, toned and like they have never had a baby. Now some women do just have a body that bounces straight back but for most of us; well, it just doesn’t happen. This misconception of how bodies should bounce back can create so much stress and anxiety for new mums. Not only are we meant to keep this new bundle of joy alive and do all the other things on the long to-do list, we have to try and get back to the way they looked pre-pregnancy!...(rant over) At times of feeling unlovable, low self-esteem and downright ugly I reach for the ‘self-love’ drops. I find these drops helped me to shift my focus from negative self-thoughts to being

able to appreciate what I have and what my body has been through. After all our bodies go through so much to create our babies and we need to show gratitude to that!!!

“Dream Drops” by ECO Modern Essentials

Between wanting to create a great sleeping environment for my daughter to sleep in and something to encourage me to gain a restful sleep, I chose the ‘dream drops’ blend. The aroma of this blends I find very settling, grounding & sedating. With the aroma of the Lavender, Geranium and Ylang Ylang it is very ‘dreamy’ I use this blend for myself by placing a drop or two on my pillow at a night time, as well as in my daughter’s diffuser in her room. Being in a small bottle it’s easy to pack in my overnight bag when visiting family.

It can also be used to make a room spray to create a restful environment throughout the room. Now I have a partner that turns his nose up with essential oils but I know by the loudness of his snoring, this essential oil really hits the spot when encouraging a good nights sleep!

Neck Wrap by Wili Heat Bags

One of the most versatile heat bag designs I have seen and used! Not only are they an amazing shape to cover your neck and shoulders they are a great shape to use on the lower back or abdomen for aches, pains and cramps. My daughter is not a light baby, so having to pick her up all the time does take its toll on my body. If you’re a mum you would completely understand when I say between having a kid hanging off your hip, your shoulders, neck and hips get a beating!

With their amazing print designs, they are not your drab old heat bag you find in some of the stores.

Being able to be heated in the microwave they create just amazing warmth and comfort. As they can also be placed in the freezer (in a freezer bag to protect from moister damage) they can be great for inflamed joints or migraines.

I used this throughout my whole pregnancy for lower back pain and continue to use it now for my neck. Through winter I use it in bed to heat up my feet! TIP! If you have a hubby/partner that loves heat; get two as you might find yours stolen in the middle of the night!

Well there it is, my experience with some of these awesome products. They are available via the shop if you want to try them out for yourself OR if you have any questions about these products or any other products I have, I am more than happy to have a chat.... But for now take care of yourself and remember; "It is only YOU that can take care of YOU!"
